PROGRAMS & PROJECTS
At The Women of Pader Uganda, our programs are designed to address an element of need
01
THE BEAD PROJECT
Founded in 2013
This was the first program started by The Women of Pader Uganda. Its purpose is to provide employment, foster community and allow TWOPU to engage with new US audiences in a fun way. Four-hundred women participate in this program in a variety of ways. Women are paid up-front for their work and 100% of profits are used to help fund our other programs. You can shop jewelry & gifts by The Bead Project on its own website at the button below:
02
COMMUNITY MINISTRY
Founded in 2013
This program was founded alongside The Bead Project with women participating in weekly "home cell" groups where they would read the Bible, worship together, and work on jewelry. Since then, it has grown to encompass community outreach and ministry conferences, which we do on every trip to Uganda (3x/ year.) We provide a "Proclaimer" to each home cell group, which is a solar-powered audio Bible that enriches countless lives.
03
BUSINESS TRAININGS & MICROLOANS
Founded in 2017
After years of regular visits to Uganda, it became clear that women were willing and eager for more opportunities. That's when the Business Training & Microloan program began. This program encompasses quarterly Business Training classes that are open for anyone in the community to attend. Seasoned business owners train participants on the basic principles of running a business according to the economic needs of Pader and how to create a business plan. Qualified participants are able to submit business plans to TWOPU's Loan Committee and have the chance to be granted a microloan through TWOPU.
